Draft outline details

Step by step

  1. Meet each engineer separately to hear their position and underlying concern.
  2. Open the joint session with the decision, the date, and criteria (correctness, operability, delivery date, reversibility).
  3. Ask each to restate the other's position until the other agrees it is fair.
  4. Planned mistake: offer your own preferred design to break the tie. Fix: return to the criteria and agree a short experiment or a named decider.
  5. Score options against criteria; turn the disputed claim into a test.
  6. Record the decision, the dissent, and the review date; confirm both commit.
