- Understand the interest: prevent fraud and meet regulation. Ask what the minimum control is.
- Develop options: launch with payouts delayed for new sellers, limit payout amounts, or add manual review at first.
- Planned mistake: go to the executive to override security. Fix: agree with security on a phased control with a date for the full one and a named risk owner.
- Record the decision, the risk accepted, and the review date; update product and finance on the effect.
