Resolving cross-team conflicts
On This Lesson 4 topics
This lesson is planned. The outline below lists the topics it will cover. The full lesson has not been published yet.
In this lesson
settle a design disagreement between teams using explicit criteria.
Planned topics
- Most conflicts are a mix of facts, priorities, and trust; separate them.
- Agree the criteria first (for example correctness, delivery date, operational cost, reversibility), then score options against them.
- Prefer reversible decisions made quickly; escalate only after criteria and evidence are on the table.
- When escalating, bring options and a recommendation, not a complaint.
- Record the decision and the dissent so it is not reopened by accident.
