On This Lesson 4 topics

This lesson is planned. The outline below lists the topics it will cover. The full lesson has not been published yet.

In this lesson

know the handful of headers you will use every week.

Planned topics

  • Headers are Name: value pairs sent before the body, in both requests and responses.
  • Content-Type says what the body is. Content-Length says how big it is.
  • Authorization carries credentials. Location gives the URL of a created resource.
  • User-Agent and Host identify the client and the target server.
  • Header names are case-insensitive; never put secrets in URLs, use headers instead.
